i’ve been into documentaries lately.  ”paradis lost” “what the bleep do we know,” “some kind of monster” (let’s face it, we loved every second of it), “the police, everyone stares”  ”cocaine cowboys 2” …or older classics like “deliverance” it’s hard to go so far back because of how much the world has changed, but movies like that are household names because they are that good.

the documentaries interest me because, it’s a voyeuristic world, no doubt, but the reality shit we see now is obviously not real.  documentaries capture actual histories that have since taken on certain common understandings about the past and give you the real perspective.  perspective that is far different and more intense than popular culture’s beliefs.

paradis lost absolutely kicked ass.  start with that one.
