I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how my entire mantra, life strategy in fact, is to stop thinking. see the conundrum?
nobody knows where thoughts come from, but they are harnessed up in our lids and actually become energy. in essence, they exist, but we’re the ones who reach out, garage one, and give it its physical existence. so it’s our call when selecting one, or a set of them. like visiting one of those red boxes, outside of grocery stores, by your lonesome. which movie would you like, there’s all kinds.
i reckon, thinking is useful when;
*creating something (music, art, construction, architecture etc)
*logistics and agendas, (dressing yourself, eating, scheduling, communicating, planning)
*decision making, (limited to, learning from mistakes, conditioned or instinctive behavioral functions, health)
these are worth a ponder or two. and it seems like the this list comprises upwards of 80% of daily thinking, rendering this whole blabber useless and slightly retarded. and i won’t rule that out….could very well be the case now (lol) and i certainly don’t qualify myself as model example of the “way to be!” or even close.
but i have been considering a few of the benefits, and i’m gonna just plow right into this idea….
imagine it. you just sit there. nothing on your mind. nothing bothers you, nags at you, bums you out, stresses, or angers, or worries you. it could erase perception vs reality (one of my top 5 most annoying things about life)…, not feeling good enough, no self-loathing, no fear, no judgement, no hating, obsessing. no compulsion to prove a point, no EGO!!, no shame, embarrassment. no labels, no cliques, no sting of rejection, or loss, no regret, no nervous anxiety of anticipation. no disappointment. insomnia? don’t reckon so!
right now however, you can garage a thought about what flavor you’d enjoy for dinner? you can call an amigo and plan a RISK match, with a custom board featuring real metal soldiers, tanks and horsemen, dry ice to create fog and the braveheart soundtrack to get pumped, later. you can, not jump into the shower before dialing in your preferred temperature and hand checking it first.? those are all reasonable.
and when i’m doing something fulfilling or rewarding, i’ve realized, i’m never thinking while doing so. if we’re playing a good show in front of a fully connected audience, there is no thought to be seen. it’s just a feeling.
when athletes are in a match, they’re acting on instinct, they’re channeling. it’s more creative or existential.
if they win, they just ‘feel’ good. if they lose, they ‘feel’ like dog shit. if the thinking stops there, winners wouldn’t get egos or attitudes and losers wouldn’t get depressed and angry.
well….at this point, my neuro-psychology rehabilitation doctor, would surely advise me to wrap this up and likely prefer i dont hit the ole “create post” button, so we’ll see what happens.
i’m just not gonna think about it….
